Long Road Home: Celebrating Olmstead in Georgia
Cindy Sue of Six Almost Seven has details about the celebration for the 8th anniversary of the Olmstead decision in Georgia--they're looking for participants and volunteers. If you can be in Atlanta on Friday June 22, check it out. As one component of the day's events, Endeavor Freedom will be filming stories for preservation in the Georgia Disability Rights Exhibit. That makes so much sense. If you already have activists and survivors gathered to rally and celebrate, it's a perfect opportunity to record the stories that would otherwise be lost.
Hi, Penny..
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for highlighting the upcoming Long Road Home activities in Atlanta.. Those directly involved in the planning each year work very hard to coordinate events that bring awareness to the existence of the Olmstead decision, along with how to successfully self-advocate and advocate for full community inclusion..
We would definitely welcome anyone who happens to be in town to participate.. Shoot, for that matter, go out of your way to be there.. The more there are, the louder the Voice to carry the message..
United In Advocacy.. :)
I am one of maany who help to organize Long Road home. It is our wish to see people all around the country celebrate Olmstead Day.
