Royal College of Art in London is hosting an Inclusive Design panel on Thursday, 9 March, at 6:30 PM, with speakers from the realms of interior design, industrial design, and graphic design. The blurb notes that, "In the past, altruism was the main justification for making things accessible to all. Now, social, legal, and economic changes are driving policy, but adopting a new mindset about participative solutions to society's complexity is equally important."
On the same day, in New York City... "The Secret History of Forced Sterilization" will be the program at Makor, 35 West 67th Street. The speaker is journalist Harry Bruinius, author of Better for All the World: The Secret History of Forced Sterilization and America's Quest for Racial Purity (Knopf 2006). This is a lunchtime program, noon-1pm. (The New York Times review of this book is discussed here.)
